John Breerwood is a novelist and English teacher that published his first novel, Sinking Dixie, with Maine Authors Publishing in 2020.

Native to the New Orleans area, he received a BA in English from Louisiana State University and a MA in English/Creative Writing from New Mexico Highlands University.  He also attended the Prague Summer Writing Program (via West Michigan University) in 2007. He has worked as a brewer, bartender, teacher, and trim carpenter among other tricks and trades. He has published articles in Where Y’At Magazine, New Orleans CityBusiness, Louisiana Conservationist, Cigar Magazine, New Orleans Advocate, and Maine Brew Guide. John and his wife Madelyn moved to Maine, where he works as a beer writer and an English teacher.
